Duty to ...I remember my Boy Scout Oath, it was:<br /> Duty to God and country,<br /> Duty to other people, and<br /> Duty to self<br />The reason I say this is the last one, the 'Duty to Self' that is striking, it in a large part involves being morally straight which means to live your life with honesty, to be clean in your speech and actions, and to be a person of strong character. There is nothing in this that includes sexual preferences, in point of fact until this week much like DADT for the military (which emphasizes honour) telling people it was ok, just don't tell anyone id a direct contradiction to the oath. I am glad that they are asking the boys to live up to their oath and be honest with themselves and their fellow scouts. Now if society at large would follow suit....<br />Moosenoreply@blogger.com
