Given the history of some of the "peaceful" tribes of the American Great Plains, it always seemed probable that they might have survived quite well had they moved their operations to Chicago's West Side. The kind of brutal thuggery some of the tribes practiced on one another and later on farmers' and cattlemen's families would have fit right in -even made them competitive with the Wolf Boys, Satan's Disciples, The Insane Popes, The Insane Dragons and the Vatos Locos. <br /><br />Of course, fictional history seems to be a cottage industry these days. Perhaps Winston Smith's job will be available when the new world order arrives and with it the need to alter history to fit Big Brother's tortuous narrative.
